Sunroof / Moonroof: Service and Repair

SUNROOF MODULE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: A new sunroof module assembly will not have the sunroof window or the sunshade as components of the new service part.

1. The old sunroof window and sunshade will need to be installed to the new sunroof module assembly.




Remove the sunroof sunshade.
2. Remove the headliner.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sunroof module assembly.
4. Disconnect the front and rear drain hoses from the sunroof module.
5. Have an assistant support the sunroof module before removing the bolts.
6. Remove the bolts from the sunroof module.
7. Remove the sunroof module from the vehicle roof with an assistant.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the sunroof module to the vehicle roof with an assistant.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the sunroof module bolts to the sunroof module.

Tighten
Tighten the sunroof module bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the front and rear drain hoses to the sunroof module.
4. Connect the electrical connector to the sunroof module assembly.
5. Perform the Initialization/Teach Procedure. Refer to Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initilization/Teach Process (New Motor)Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initilization/Teach Process (Existing Motor)Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initilization/Teach Process (New MD4 Motor)Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initilization/Teach Process (Existing MD4 Motor).
6. Inspect for proper operation of the sunroof.
7. Install the headliner.
8. Install the sunroof sunshade.
