Cooling System - Revised Radiator Replacement Procedure

Revised Radiator Replacement

2005 Buick Terraza
2005 Chevrolet Uplander
2005 Pontiac Montana SV6
2005 Saturn Relay

This bulletin is being issued to revise the Radiator Replacement procedure in the Engine Cooling sub-section of the Service Manual. Please replace the current information in the Service Manual with the following information.

The following information has been updated within SI. If you are using a paper version of this Service Manual, please make a reference to this bulletin on the affected page.

Radiator Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the lower transmission oil cooler (TOC) line from the radiator.

2. Remove the cooling fans and shroud.

3. Remove radiator inlet hose.

4. Remove the radiator outlet hose.





5. Remove the bolt that secures the radiator to the condenser.

6. Remove the condenser tube clip screw.

7. Tilt the radiator and condenser inwards toward the engine and remove the radiator.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the radiator.

Note:
Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the condenser tube clip screw.

Tighten

Tighten the bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

3. Install the bolt that secures the radiator to the condenser.

Tighten

Tighten the bolt to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

4. Install the radiator outlet hose.

5. Install radiator inlet hose.

6. Install the cooling fans and shroud.

7. Connect the lower transmission oil cooler (TOC) line to the radiator.

8. Refill the cooling system.

9. Inspect the transmission fluid level.
