Power Sliding Door - Unlatches but Does Not Open

POWER SLIDING DOOR (PSD) UNLATCHES BUT DOES NOT OPEN

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
The power sliding door (PSD) is designed to stop and reverse direction when an obstruction is present. Proper mechanical operation of the PSD is necessary for power open and close functions to occur.
- Manually open and close the PSD slowly in order to determine if the door operates smoothly and without excessive resistance.
- Clean and lubricate or replace the tracks as necessary and verify proper PSD cable tension.
- Inspect the optical sensor connector and terminals for damage.
- Inspect the optical sensor pigtail harness for damage.
- Inspect the optical sensor for proper installation and a secure mount to the actuator motor housing.

TEST DESCRIPTION

Step 1 - Step 11:

Step 12 - Step 15:

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
3. This step tests the rear side door actuator control module for the optical sensor 5-volt reference and ground.
4. This step tests the optical sensor signal circuit. While the door is moving at the approximate power operating speed, the average voltage measured should be 2-3 volts.
5. This step tests the optical sensor signal circuit. While the door is moving at the approximate power operating speed, the average voltage measured should be 2-3 volts.
