Instrument Panel (IP) - Carrier Replacement



Instrument Panel (I/P) Carrier Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR. Refer toSIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 andSIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in SIR.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer toBattery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
3. Remove the instrument panel (I/P). Refer toInstrument Panel (I/P) Assembly Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Assembly Replacement) .
4. Disconnect the I/P wiring harness connectors and position out of the way. Refer toInstrument Panel (I/P) Harness Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Harness Replacement) .
5. Remove the body control module (BCM). Refer toPSD SIE TITLE Error: SIE linked to empty Cell ID 72868 in Computing/Integrating Systems.
6. Remove the I/P air outlet ducts. Refer toInstrument Panel (I/P) Air Outlet Ducts Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
7. Remove the center air outlet. Refer toAir Outlet Replacement - Center in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
8. Remove the defroster duct. Refer toAir Outlet Duct Replacement - Defroster in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
9. Remove the bolt holding the HVAC module to the bracket on the I/P carrier, this bolt is located under the right side window defogger duct.
10. Remove the bolt holding the HVAC module to the bracket on the I/P carrier, this bolt is located under the left side window defogger duct.
11. Remove the bolt holding the HVAC module to the bracket on the I/P carrier, this bolt is located on the rear right center of the I/P carrier.
12. Remove the bolt holding the brake pedal bracket on the I/P carrier, this bolt is located on the upper rear side of the bracket.
13. Remove the ground wire bolts on the lower I/P carrier on the right and left sides.
14. Remove the bolts holding the steering column support bracket on the cowl panel brace.




15. Remove the bolts/screws which secure the I/P carrier to the body.
16. Remove the I/P carrier from the body.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the I/P carrier to the body.

Notice: Refer toFastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the bolts/screws which secure the I/P carrier to the body.

Tighten the bolts/screws to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

3. Install the bolt holding the HVAC module to the bracket on the I/P carrier, this bolt is located under the right side window defogger duct.

Tighten the bolts/screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

4. Install the bolt holding the HVAC module to the bracket on the I/P carrier, this bolt is located under the left side window defogger duct.

Tighten the bolts/screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

5. Install the bolt holding the HVAC module to the bracket on the I/P carrier, this bolt is located on the rear right center of the I/P carrier.

Tighten the bolts/screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

6. Install the bolt holding the brake pedal bracket on the I/P carrier, this bolt is located on the upper rear side of the bracket.

Tighten the bolts/screws to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

7. Install the ground wire bolts on the lower I/P carrier on the right and left sides.

Tighten the bolts/screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

8. Install the bolts holding the steering column support bracket on the cowl panel brace.

Tighten the bolts/screws to 24 Nm (18 lb ft).

9. Install the defroster duct. Refer toAir Outlet Duct Replacement - Defroster in Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
10. Install the center air outlet. Refer toAir Outlet Replacement - Center in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
11. Install the I/P air outlet ducts. Refer toInstrument Panel (I/P) Air Outlet Ducts Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
12. Install the A/C control module. Refer toHVAC Control Module Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
13. Install the EBCM. Refer toElectronic Brake Control Module Replacement in Antilock Brake System.
14. Install the BCM. Refer toPSD SIE TITLE Error: SIE linked to empty Cell ID 72868 in Computing/Integrating Systems.
15. Install the wiring harness. Refer toInstrument Panel (I/P) Harness Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Harness Replacement) .
16. Install the I/P. Refer toInstrument Panel (I/P) Assembly Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Assembly Replacement) .
17. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer toBattery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
18. Enable the SIR. Refer toSIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 andSIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in SIR.
