Heater Pipe Replacement - Inlet



HEATER PIPE REPLACEMENT - INLET

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (Static Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (Vac-N-Fill) in Cooling System.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.
3. Remove the thermostat bypass pipe.




4. Disconnect the inlet heater hose (1) from the inlet pipe (2).




5. Remove the heater inlet pipe nut.
6. Remove the inlet pipe from the thermostat housing.
7. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install a new O-ring seal on the inlet pipe.
2. Install the inlet pipe to the thermostat housing.
3. Install the heater inlet pipe nut.

Tighten the nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice.




4. Connect the inlet heater hose (1) to the inlet heater pipe (2).
5. Install the thermostat bypass pipe.
6. Install the air cleaner outlet duct.
7. Fill the coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (Static Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (Vac-N-Fill) in Cooling System.
