DVD Player: Service and Repair



DVD PLAYER REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Move the screen to the open position.

IMPORTANT: Components of the DVD player cannot be serviced separately. Replace as an assembly.




2. Open the rear screw cover using a flat-bladed tool.




3. Remove the 4 retaining bolts.
4. With one hand holding the DVD player assembly, pull down the retainer from the bracket.




5. Allow the DVD player assembly to come to rest on the hook.




6. Disconnect the wire connector (1).

IMPORTANT: Observe the routing of the wiring harness (2).

7. Slightly lift up the DVD player assembly so that the hook can be removed from its resting position.
8. Remove the DVD player from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the DVD player hook (1) into the hook opening.




2. Connect the wire connector (1) to the DVD player assembly.

IMPORTANT: Ensure the harness is routed to the right side of the large plastic pin (2) as shown.

3. Install the harness retainer to the panel.
4. Swing the rear part of the assembly to the headliner so that the retainer is seated.




5. Install the rear retaining bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




6. Move the screen to the open position.
7. Install the front retaining bolts (2).

Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

8. Close the rear screw cover.
