Cruise Control Indicator Always On
Cruise Control Indicator Always On
Diagnostic Fault Information
Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle prior to using this diagnostic procedure. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
Circuit/System Description
The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the cruise control indicator switch. When the cruise on/off switch is switched ON, the cruise control switch is closed and the signal circuit is high. When the cruise on/off switch is switched OFF, the cruise control switch is open and the signal circuit is low.
Circuit/System Verification
1. Ignition ON, verify that the Cruise Lamp parameter in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) inputs reads On.
• If the parameter displays Off, replace the IPC.
2. Observe the Cruise Control Active parameter in the PCM.
• If the parameter reads Off, replace the IPC.
• If the parameter displays On, replace the PCM.
