Rear Axle Upper Control Arm Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the rear wheel.
3. Remove the rear stabilizer link.
4. Remove the brake hose bracket-to-knuckle bolts.
5. Remove the brake hose bracket in order to disconnect the brake hose from the parking brake lever.




6. Use a utility stand in order to support the lower control arm.
7. Disconnect the height sensor link from the lower control arm as necessary.




8. Remove the upper control arm to knuckle nut and bolt.




9. Remove the upper control arm to crossmember bolts and nuts.
10. Remove the upper control arm.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the upper control arm.




2.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

Install the bolts and the nuts which secure the upper control arm to the crossmember.

Tighten the nuts to 75 N.m (55 lb ft).




3. Install the upper control arm to the knuckle.

Tighten the nut which secures the upper control arm to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).

4. Connect the height sensor link to the lower control arm as necessary.
5. Remove the utility stand.
6. Install the brake hose bracket.
7. Install the brake hose bracket belts.
8. Install the rear stabilizer link.

Tighten the stabilizer link ball nut to 40 N.m (29 lb ft).

9. Install the rear wheel.
10. Lower the vehicle.
