DTC Descriptor
DTC P0A14
- Engine Control Mount Circuit

Circuit/System Description

Ignition voltage is supplied to the engine mount solenoid. The EBCM monitors engine RPM over GMLAN and activates the mount solenoid when engine speed is below 1200 RPM reducing engine vibration at idle.

Conditions for Running the DTC

Engine running

Conditions for Setting the DTC

Short to ground or an open/high resistance.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

Deactivates the mount solenoid

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

When the condition is no longer present.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the bi-state mount harness connector.
2. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 2 and ground.

If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and the B+ circuit fuse is open, test or replace the engine mount solenoid.

3. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal 1 and the B+ circuit terminal 2.
4. Engine Running, verify that a test lamp does not illuminate when the engine is above 1200 RPM.

If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.

5. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the bi-state mount solenoid.

Component Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the bi-state mount harness connector.
2. Test for less than 25 - 34 ohms of resistance between the control terminal 1 and the B+ terminal 2.

If not within the specified range, replace the bi-state mount solenoid.
