Front Side Door Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system.Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
2. Remove the accessory switch panel.
3. Remove the door trim panel.
4. Remove the outer belt sealing strip.
5. Remove the speaker.
6. Remove the water deflector.
7. Remove the outside rearview mirror.
8. Remove the window.
9. Remove the weatherstrip run channel.
10. Remove the window regulator.
11. Remove the door latch assembly.
12. Remove the side door SIR sensor.
13. Remove the outside door handle.
14. Remove the wire harness from the door.




15. Remove the bolts (1, 3) that retain the door to the hinge plates.
16. With the aid of an assistant, remove the door from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. With the aid of an assistant, install the door to the vehicle.
2. Apply LOCTITE(R) Blue GM P/N 12345382, or Canadian P/N 10953489, or equivalent to the fastener prior to installation.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

3. Install the bolts (1, 2) that retain the door to the hinge plates.

Tighten the bolts to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

4. Install the wire harness to the door.
5. Install the outside door handle.
6. Install the side door SIR sensor.
7. Install the door latch assembly.
8. Install the window regulator.
9. Install the weatherstrip run channel.
10. Install the window.
11. Install the outside rearview mirror.
12. Install the water deflector.
13. Install the speaker.
14. Install the outer belt sealing strip.
15. Install the door trim panel.
16. Install the accessory switch panel.
17. Enable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
