Some 1982 THM 125C transmissions may exhibit some oil foaming. This oil foaming is noticeable while checking transmission oil levels. When the oil foaming condition exists, the oil level indications on the dipstick will be inaccurate.
In servicing transmissions for this condition, use the following oncar service procedure:
1. Remove the valve body cover and RTV sealant.
2. Disconnect the electrical wires from the plastic electrical connector in the side of the case cover, and remove the electrical connector.
3. Slide the manual rod retaining clip off of the manual valve and slide the manual valve thru the electrical connector hole in the side of the case.
4. Replace the existing manual valve with Part Number 8643316.
5. Reinstall electrical wire connector and reconnect wires.
6. Reconnect manual rod retaining clip to the manual valve securely.
7. Remove the auxiliary valve body cover and replace it with Part Number 8643326.
8. Replace the valve body cover and RTV sealant.
If oil foaming continues after the above steps have been performed, replace the case cover.
