SUBJECT: Orifice Plug in Pump Cover




The 1987 THM 200C uses a ball capsule in the turbine shaft to cushion the TCC apply. (See Figure 1)




In previous years, an orificed cup plug in the pump cover cushioned the TCC apply. (See Figure 2)

In all transmissions with the ball capsule in the turbine shaft, the orificed cup plug in the pump cover should be omitted. If there is no ball capsule in the turbine shaft, an orificed cup plug should be present in the pump cover.

Note
SOME 1987 TRANSMISSIONS WERE BUILT WITH THE BALL CAPSULE IN THE TURBINE SHAFT, AND THE ORIFICED CUP PLUG IN THE PUMP COVER. IF THIS IS FOUND, OMIT THE ORIFICED CUP IN THE PUMP COVER.
