Engine: Service and Repair

EXC. 1982-85 RIVIERA & MODELS W/V8-307 ENGINE
1. Remove hood and drain radiator.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable and remove air cleaner.
3. Remove fan shroud, fan, pulleys and belts.
4. If equipped with A/C, disconnect compressor brackets and position compressor aside.
5. Remove power steering pump from bracket and position aside, then remove alternator.
6. Disconnect all hoses, linkages and electrical connections from engine.
7. Disconnect exhaust pipes and remove converter cover.
8. Remove flywheel to converter or pressure plate bolts, engine to transmission bolts and motor mount bolts.
9. Support transmission and remove engine using suitable hoist.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
