SUBJECT: VISTA VENT HARDWARE NUT
MODELS AFFECTED: 1980-86 SKYHAWK, 1980-86, SKYLARK, 1985-86 SOMERSET, AND 1982-86 CENTURY WITH VISTA VENT OPTION (AD3)
OLD AND NEW NUT/BUSHING:
A new nut assembly for hinge and latch attachments on vista vents is now available.
The new nut provides a better appearance as well as better sealing against water leaks.
If conditions such as loose hardware and water leaks at the hardware attachments are noted, replace the old nut and bushing assembly with the new nut assembly.
The new nut has an integral seal and therefore no longer requires the use of bushings.
Due to the lower profile and improved appearance, the new nut should be used in all locations (hinges and latches) when service operations on vista vents are performed.
