Radio/Stereo: Service and Repair

When installing radio, be sure to adjust antenna trimmer for peak performance.




1982---85 RIVIERA
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove center trim plate by grasping firmly and pulling rearward.
3. Remove six screws from radio mounting bracket.
4. Remove six screws from instrument panel lower cover assembly, then pull cover assembly out from instrument panel enough to gain access to two screws attaching radio bracket to instrument panel lower tie bar. Remove screws.
5. Carefully pull radio assembly rearward to remove.
6. Disconnect radio harness connectors and antenna lead.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
