PRESSURE REGULATOR BUSHING SPRING PIN
Beginning in April 1983, a new solid pin for the pressure regulator bushing went into production for all THM 325 4L transmissions. The purpose of the new pin is to eliminate the possibility of distorting the case face during assembly. The new solid pin is larger in diameter than the coiled spring pin, therefore, the two pins must be used interchangeably. (See figures 1 & 2)
The new pin is a slip fit in the transmission case. If the transmission is rolled over, the pin may fall out, allowing the pressure regulator bushing to lose proper orientation.
If replacement of either design pin is required, use the following numbers to order the correct pin:
