SUBJECT: Engine Oil Pan Gaskets

MODELS AFFECTED: 1983 5.0 V-8 (VIN code Y) gas, 4.3L V-6 and 5.7L V-8 Diesel Engines
The oil pan gasket on the engines listed above contain a stamped steel core with cork bonded to each side. If the cork comes off, the sharp steel edge will be exposed.

CAUTION: Care should be taken when handling this gasket to avoid the possibility of personal injury.
