External Components

1. Remove oil pan and discard gasket.

2. Remove oil screen and intake pipe 0- ring.





3. Disconnect wire leads at case electrical connector and pressure switches, see image.

4. Using a small screwdriver, depress electrical connector tangs and remove connector and O-ring seal from case.





5. Remove solenoid assembly-attaching bolts, then the solenoid assembly and O-ring seal, see image.





6. Remove the pressure regulator assembly retaining ring, then the MTV boost valve bushing and valve, the reverse boost valve bushing and valve and the pressure-regulator spring, bushing and valve, see image. If replacement of the valve bushing is necessary, determine whether bushing used is standard or oversized. Oversized bushings will be stamped "O.S."





7. Remove converter clutch-apply valve retaining ring, then the bushing, valve and spring, see image.

8. Remove the D2 signal, reverse signal and overrun pipe retainers, then the pipes.
