Audio - Radio Noise Upon Accelerating, Cruise OFF
Bulletin: 85-9-9Date: Mar 1985
Ref. No..: 85-171-9
SUBJECT: RADIO NOISE
MODELS AFFECTED: 1984-85 CENTURY WITH 2.5L ENGINE & CRUISE CONTROL
A condition of ignition noise occuring on the low end of the AM band when accelerating with cruise control not engaged could be due to the servo-to-throttle cable being routed over the top of the distributor and ignition wiring. To repair this condition, route the servo-to-throttle cable away from the distributor and secondary wiring. Use care that the cable retains a smooth even arc to prevent binding and surge when the cruise control is engaged.
