Heater - Buzzing Noise on Acceleration

Bulletin 84-1-2

Date Jan. '84

Ref. No. 84-084-1
SUBJECT: HEATER INLET HOSE CLAMP SCREW

MODELS AFFECTED: 1984 CENTURY AND SKYLARK WITH L-4 ENGINE AND AIR CONDITIONING

HEATER INLET HOSE CLAMP REPOSITIONING:

Some early production 1984 Century and Skylark cars may have the heater inlet hose clamp positioned so that the clamp screw is oriented towards the front of the dash. On heavy acceleration this screw can contact the blower air inlet assembly, causing a "buzz" or rattle sound in the passenger compartment.

If this occurs, orient the screw head on the engine side as shown..
