Fluid Pressure Test
1. Check transmission fluid level and correct as necessary.
2. Check throttle valve cable and adjust as necessary.
3. Check manual linkage and adjust as necessary.
4. Check engine tune up. If engine performance indicates that an engine tune up is required, it should be performed before road testing is completed or transmission correction is attempted. Poor engine performance can cause rough shifting or other malfunctions.
5. Install oil pressure gauge to transmission and tachometer to engine.
6. With engine at specified RPM and transmission in specified range, transmission fluid pressures should be as shown in image. Brakes must be applied at all times. Also the combined total operating time when checking transmission in Reverse Drive and Intermediate range must not exceed 2 minutes.
