SUBJECT: ENGINE WIRING HARNESS CONTACTING TRANSMISSION FILLER TUBE

MODELS AFFECTED: 1985 ELECTRAS


CONDITION

General Motors has determined that some 1985 Electras were assembled with an engine wiring harness retaining strap attached to the transmission filler tube.

This could eventually result in an electrical short affecting the operation of various engine systems, such as the engine cooling fan, air conditioning compressor, or could result in a no-start condition.
