Vacuum Regulator Valve (VRV)

This valve is used on diesel engines, attached to the side of the injection pump, and regulates vacuum in proportion to throttle angle. Vacuum is supplied to port 1 and vacuum from port 2 is reduced as the throttle is opened. At closed throttle, the vacuum is 15 inches Hg and at wide open throttle the vacuum is zero.
Vacuum from the vacuum regulator valve port 2 is directed to the EGR vacuum switch and the vacuum modulator valve and transmission converter clutch.
