Troubleshooting
1. With the ignition switch OFF, check for battery voltage at the ORN wire of the ELC compressor assembly and pins A and C of the electronic level control relay.
2. Check the CTSY fuse and the GAGES fuse.
3. If the vent solenoid does not work when the car height is too high check the CTSY fuse.
4. If the vehicle is low or the compressor runs continuously for a few minutes, check the air hoses for leaks or bad connections.

Diagnosis
1. Test the components for each system as described in Fig. 26. If the symptoms do not match the ones listed in Fig. 26, test each component.
2. To test the actuator arm, raise car and check the following:
a. Link is attached to the height actuator arm.
b. Wiring to the ELC height sensor is good.
c. G404 is clean and tight.
3. To test the compressor motor, remove the connector from the ELC relay and connect a fused jumper between the following terminals with the ignition switch in the OFF position:
a. If the compressor runs, test the vent solenoid.
b. If the compressor does not run, check the DK GRN and BLK wires to the compressor for opens. Check that G405 is clean and tight.
c. If the wires are good, remove the ELC compressor assembly for repair.
4. To test the vent solenoid, connect a fused jumper from the WHT (320) wire terminal of the ELC compressor assembly to ground. Put the ignition switch in OFF position:
a. If the solenoid valve does not open and close, remove the ELC compressor assembly and install a new vent solenoid.
b. If the solenoid and the actuator arm operate correctly, but the system does not vent to lower the car, install a new ELC height sensor.
5. To test the ELC relay. connect a fused jumper from the YEL wire of the ELC relay to ground. Place the ignition switch in OFF position:
a. If the relay does not operate, install a new ELC relay.
b. If the ELC relay and actuator arm operate properly, but the system does not turn on when the car is low, install a new ELC height sensor.
6. If "Car Is Leveling" indicator does not light and the ELC system is operating normally, disconnect connector C231. Connect a test lamp between terminal A and body ground. Turn ignition to RUN, wait about 40 seconds for compressor to run. When compressor runs:
a. Test lamp does not light. Check DRK GRN (322) wire and repair as necessary.
b. If indicator lights, check indicator bulb.
c. If indicator bulb is good, check BRN/WHT (322) wire and BLK (150) wire and repair as necessary.
