SUBJECT: OFF IDLE SURGE, CHUGGLE, OR ROUGH RUNNING CONDITION
MODELS AFFECTED: 1986 CENTURY COUPES, SEDANS AND WAGONS EQUIPPED WITH 3.8L SFI ENGINES (VIN CODE 3)
Some 1986 Century's equipped with a 3.8L SFI engine (VIN Code 3), may exhibit a condition described as a surge, chuggle, or rough running engine while being driven under very light acceleration.
If this condition is encountered and cannot be repaired using currently published diagnostic and service information, it may be necessary to install a new service PROM, Part Number 16060596.
