System Does Not Respond Properly to Desired Temperature

1. Check aspirator operation. Aspirator intake should be sufficient to hold small piece of paper against in-car temperature sensor grille. If intake is not sufficient, check for disconnected or kinked hose.
2. Check sensor operation (refer to "Diagnosis, Sensor"). Ensure in-car sensor cover is in place.
3. Check temperature actuator door rod for sticking or binding, and correct as needed.
4. Check temperature actuator door and rod calibration. Observe door movement, which should move towards front of vehicle when 65 is selected. Set control for "85." Arm should rotate at least 180° when positioning door.
5. Check door adjustment. If door is not properly adjusted, LEDs should flash at "65" and "85" settings. Adjust door by setting control at "85," waiting until blower stops, and disconnecting rod from actuator arm. By pulling door towards you as far as it will go, connector position can be adjusted so it will snap into place.
