SUBJECT: GAP AT TOP OF DOOR TRIM PANEL

MODELS AFFECTED: 1986 LESABRE COUPES
Some 1986 LeSabre Coupes may experience a poor fit/gap at the top of the door trim panel. This condition is caused by lack of retention at the upper center area of the door trim panel. To correct this condition, it is necessary to install an additional retainer clip, Part Number 3065575 (or similar) to the door trim panel, as follows:

1. Loosen top of door trim panel from door by disengaging two upper trim panel retaining clips (both front and rear) from door.

2. Remove door pull strap and inside door handle escutcheon.

3. Carefully peel trim fabric away from panel at rear of gap.

DOOR TRIM PANEL:

4. Hold trim panel in place on door. Center and drill a 17/64" hole through panel and door 1-1/2" from top of trim panel. Refer to illustration.

5. Rework a retainer clip Part Number 3065575, as shown in illustration.

6. Insert retaining clip through drilled hole in trim panel.

7. Resecure loosened trim fabric to trim panel with trim adhesive.

8. Correctly position trim panel to door and press installed retainer clip into drilled hole in door.
