Removal and Replacement
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.2. Disconnect electrical connector from mass air flow sensor.
3. Loosen two hose clamps at air intake duct, then remove intake duct and mass air flow sensor as an assembly.
4. Disconnect T.V. cable at both ends.
5. On models equipped with cruise control, disconnect cable from throttle body and the vacuum hoses from servo, then remove servo assembly.
6. On all models, disconnect shift control linkage from transaxle.
7. Disconnect electrical connectors from Park/Neutral switch, [1][2]torque converter clutch and vehicle speed sensor.
8. Disconnect vacuum modulator hose from modulator.
9. Remove three upper transaxle to engine attaching bolts, then install a suitable engine support fixture.
10. Turn steering wheel to full left position, then remove both front wheel assemblies.
11. Remove right front ball joint nut, then separate control arm from steering knuckle.
12. Remove right drive axle from case, using care not to damage seal.
13. Remove left drive axle, using a suitable pry bar with axle boot seal protectors installed.
14. Disconnect aspirator electrical connector, then remove left front transaxle mount
15. Remove right front transaxle mount attaching bolts.
16. Remove left rear transaxle mount to transaxle attaching bolt, then the right rear transaxle mount
17. Remove engine support bracket to transaxle case attaching bolts, then the stabilizer link to control arm bolt
18. Remove flywheel cover attaching bolts, then the cover.
19. Mark relationship of flywheel to converter, then remove flywheel attaching bolts.
20. Remove rear cradle to front cradle attaching bolts, then install a suitable transaxle support fixture.
21. Position cradle assembly aside and support with a suitable stand, then disconnect cooler lines from transaxle assembly.
22. Remove remaining lower transaxle to engine attaching bolts, then lower transaxle from vehicle.
23. Reverse procedure to install.
