Oil Pump: Service and Repair

Removal

1. Remove oil pan.
2. Remove oil pump.
3. Remove drive shaft extension






Note: Inspect washer location on drive shaft, as shown in figure.

Installation

1. Install drive shaft extension.






Important: Make sure the extension is fully engaged. The end of the extension nearest the washers must be inserted into the drive shaft, as shown in figure.

2. Install oil pump.
3. Install oil pan.

Inspect for proper oil pressure and for oil leaks

Note: Make sure oil pressure builds up immediately upon starting the engine or damage could occur.
