Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

REGAL

1. Disconnect battery ground.
2. Discharge system refrigerant.
3. Disconnect refrigerant lines.
4. Torque strut bracket bolts.
5. Remove coolant reservoir, hoses, air cleaner, and radiator.
6. Tilt and hold radiator rearward.
7. Remove condenser.


EXC. CADILLAC, CAMARO, CORVETTE, CUTLASS, ELECTRA, FIERO, FIREBIRD, GRAND PRIX, LESABRE, REATTA, RIVIERA & 98

1. Discharge system refrigerant.
2. Disconnect refrigerant lines at condenser, and plug open fittings.
3. Remove air cleaner cold air duct from core support, if so equipped.
4. Remove upper fan shroud half.
5. Remove condenser top mounting brackets and rubber insulators.
6. Reposition radiator, then pull condenser upward to remove through top.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
