- Preliminary Information
In order to correctly diagnose and repair the BCM and its components, it is imperative that the information in the following sections be used properly. The information on the screen is presented in the order in which it should be followed. Start your diagnostic procedures by reading and understanding each section before performing any diagnostic steps. It is important that you have a good understanding of electrical circuits and how they work. You should know how to use and interpret diagnostic meters and equipment.
When the BCM or its sub-systems are suspected at fault start your diagnosis by familiarizing yourself with SYSTEM TERMINOLOGY, SERVICE PRECAUTIONS, and FLOW OF DIAGNOSIS. Once this is understood proceed with SELF DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES and continue by selecting each screen in the order in which they appear. This diagnostic routine will prove to be more accurate in properly diagnosing faults within the BCM system.
