Fig. 5 Engine front cover replacement:
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Loosen, but do not remove, water pump pulley attaching bolts.
3. Remove serpentine accessory drive belt.
4. Remove water pump pulley attaching bolts and the pulley.
5. Raise and support vehicle.
6. Remove right side wheel and tire assembly and inner fender splash shield.
7. Drain cooling system, then remove crankshaft balancer.
8. Drain engine oil, then remove oil filter.
9. Disconnect radiator and heater hoses, then remove crankshaft sensor.
10. Remove oil pan and gasket, then the water pump.
11. Remove front cover attaching bolts, then the front cover and gasket, Fig. 5.
12. Reverse procedure to install.
