Heating and Air Conditioning: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION

The Electronic Touch Climate Control (ETCC) system can automatically maintain a selected temperature regardless of changes in outside temperature. Although the air distribution and refrigerant systems are similar to those of the manual air conditioning systems, several additional components in the ETCC system provide for automatic temperature control. These include:

COMPONENTS

^ An electronic A/C control assembly, located on the Instrument Panel (I/P)

^ A programmer assembly, located under the I/P on the end of the Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) module assembly.

^ An in-car temperature sensor, located in the I/P trim pad assembly, and an aspirator, mounted under the I/P on the HVAC module.

^ An outside air temperature sensor, located on the front end vertical support.

^ A blower motor control module, located under the hood on the HVAC blower module.
