Test B: Air Mix Valve Control Test

TEST DESCRIPTION

1. With the ignition off, remove terminal W from the Electronic Climate Control (ECC) Programmer connector and reconnect the ECC Programmer. Turn the ignition to RUN. and set to AUTO mode. Enter the diagnostic mode and check if Code 08 is set.

^ if Code 08 is set, go to step 2.

^ If Code 08 is not set, check the LT BLU (733) wire for a short to ground. if LT BLU (733) wire is OK, replace the Heater and A/C Control Assembly.

2. Leave terminal W from previous step disconnected. Place ignition in RUN and set to AUTO mode. Adjust temperature setting to 90°F and then to 60°F while observing the Air Mix Valve linkage.

^ If the Air Mix valve linkage moves to the full heat position and then to the full heat position, replace the Air Mix Valve Motor Assembly.

^ If the Air Mix Valve linkage does not move or moves in only one direction, Refer to Table 1 (see image).
