Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

Prior to performing any diagnostic or testing procedure check all vacuum hoses and wiring for proper routing and connections, throttle linkage for freedom of movement, wastegate linkage for damage or any problems which may occur in a non-turbocharged engine. A turbocharged engine has exhaust pipes located high in the engine compartment. Care must be taken to avoid accidental contact with hot exhaust pipes since personal injury may occur.
