Drive Range-1ST Gear

When the selector lever is moved to the Drive (D) position the input clutch and the 1-2 band are applied. In first gear then the converter, drive link assembly, input housing, input clutch and input sprag drive the input sun gear and the input sun gear drives the input carrier/reaction internal gear. The reaction internal gear drives the reaction carrier/input internal gear around the reaction sun gear which is held stationary by the 1-2 band. Motion is transferred to the final drive through the reaction carrier/input internal gear at a reduction ratio of 2.92:1, and with converter torque the approximate overall stall ratio is 5.84:1.
