SUBJECT: A/C LIQUID LINE RATTLE
MODELS AFFECTED: 1987 SKYHAWKS (EXCEPT TURBO)
A noise or rattle condition may occur on some 1987 Skyhawks with the 2.0L engine, VIN Codes 1 or K. The noise may be interpreted by the driver as a rattle or buzzing noise coming from the instrument or dash panel area. The noise could be originating from the A/C liquid line vibrating against the emission and purge tubes at the right front of the engine compartment.
To repair the condition, install a clamp on the liquid line, as shown in illustration. Use clamp, Part Number 14036435, and screw Part Number 11509135, installed in the existing hole at the point indicated.
