SUBJECT: A/C COMPRESSOR LINES REVERSED DURING SERVICE REPAIRS
MODELS AFFECTED: 1985-88 ELECTRA; 1986-88 LESABRE; 1985-88 CENTURY EQUIPPED WITH HR-6/DA-6 COMPRESSOR
During Service repairs on an HR-6/DA-6 compressor equipped car, it is possible to attach the suction and pressure lines 180 degrees off, resulting in the lines being reversed.
Because of the compressors various vehicle applications, it is possible to get a compressor out of stock, or to assemble the compressor head to front cylinder 120 degrees either direction from standard. If this misorientation condition occurs, the A/C lines can be put on reverse.
The symptoms for the above line reversal condition will be:
^ No cooling
^ Low high pressure side
^ High low pressure side
