System Diagnosis

NOTE: Diagnostics for the symptoms listed in the following table are listed after the system diagnostic table.

Diagnostic Chart - Symptom Table:

SYMPTOM TABLE
^ If your symptom does not appear in the symptom table, do all of the tests.

Table A: System Won't Arm:

TABLE A: SYSTEM WON'T ARM, INDICATOR FLASHES AFTER DOOR SWITCH IS LOCKED.

Table B: System Won't Arm:

TABLE B: SYSTEM WON'T ARM, INDICATOR STAYS ON AFTER DOOR IS CLOSED.

Table C: System Won't Cancel Arming:

TABLE C: SYSTEM WON'T CANCEL ARMING WHEN DOOR LOCK SWITCH IS UNLOCKED.

Table D: System Won't Disarm:

TABLE D: SYSTEM WON'T DISARM WITH DOOR KEY.

^ If the results are correct, replace theft deterrent controller.
1. Check PNK/BLK (39) wire for an open.
2. Check LT GRN(262) wire, BLK (150) wire and door lock cylinder switches for an open (see schematic).

Table E: Alarms Won't Operate:

Table F: Only Horns Or Some Lights Operate:

TABLE F: ONLY THE HORNS OR SOME LIGHTS OPERATE WHEN ALARM IS ACTIVATED (HORNS AND ALL LIGHTS WORK WHEN OPERATED FROM THEIR SWITCHES.)

Table G: Starter Interrupt Doesn't Work:

TABLE G: STARTER INTERRUPT DOESN'T WORK, ALARMS OPERATE.

Table H: Security Indicator Doesn't Work:

Diagnostic Chart:

Table I: False Alarms (table 1):

TABLE I: FALSE ALARMS
^ If the alarms operate without any tamper action only when the system is armed, go to the table.
^ If the alarms operate when the system is not armed, check for the following.
1. A ground in the BLK//WHT (264) wire.
2. A ground in the theft deterrent controller at terminal F.
3. Check that the theft deterent relay contacts are open.
4. If all checks are good the problem is intermittent.
