Ref. No.: 88-234-1
Corp. Ref. No.: 881102
SUBJECT: LACK OF TEMPERATURE AND BLOWER CONTROL WITH ELECTRONIC CLIMATE CONTROL - C68 SYSTEM
MODELS AFFECTED: 1988 LESABRES
CONDITION
Lack of temperature and blower control in automatic mode and system not responding to actual in-car temperature.
CAUSE
In-car temperature sensor aspirator hose pinched or disconnected.
This condition may be confirmed by covering the in-car sensor opening with a piece of tissue paper. When the hose is properly connected, at high blower speed, the paper will be sucked over the opening and if the hose is pinched or disconnected the paper will just loosely sit or slide off the opening.
CORRECTION
Check the aspirator for proper installation. Check if the aspirator hose is connected on both ends and that the aspirator hose is not pinched or collapsed after the assembly is completed.
