Bulletin: 88-8-13A

Date: Sept. '88

Ref. No.: 88-106A-8

Corp. Ref. No.: 831025R
SUBJECT: HORN BLOWS AND STICKS

MODELS AFFECTED: 1988 REGALS BELOW VIN J1515831

Comments may be made by owners/dealers on horn blowing and sticking in any weather condition when vehicle is unattended. Some 1988 Buick Regals before VIN J1515831 may have this condition.

To repair, replace the horn bar with a new one currently available from GMSPO, Part Numbers 17984460 Brushed Aluminum; 17988940, Woodgrain.

Parts are currently available from GMSPO.

If the new horn bar is not available at dealership level, a temporary correction may be accomplished by removing the horn bar (two attaching screws) and disconnecting the large black ground terminal and reinstalling horn bar. Owners must be informed that this is only temporary until a new horn bar is received at the dealership and that the adjacent horn blowing pad is still functional.

When new horn bar is installed, be sure to reconnect large black ground terminal.
