Starter Motor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove solenoid wires and battery cables.
4. Remove rear motor support bracket, then the a/c compressor support rod, if equipped.
5. Remove two starter motor to engine attaching bolts, then remove starter.
6. Reverse procedure to install. When removing starter, note if any shims are used between starter and mounting surface. If shims are found, reinstall in original location.
