SUBJECT: DOOR GLASS DISENGAGEMENT
MODELS AFFECTED: 1988 REGALS
Comments have been received of door glass assemblies disengaging from channels on 1988 Regals. The following procedure should be followed if this condition occurs:
1. Remove the window assembly from the door and inspect (proceed to Step 2 if glass/guides are functional). If the glass guides have become debonded from the glass or substantial pin guide damage is evident, the glass assembly must be replaced with the following parts.
Part Number 10138344 Right Side
Part Number 10138345 Left Side
FIGURE 1 - FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN CHANNEL:
2. Remove the door glass run channel and front run channel retainer. Replace the run channel with the following parts (See Figure 1).
Part Number 10120598 Right Side
Part Number 10120599 Left Side
Care must be taken to prevent distortion of the glass run channel during installation. Should any distortion occur, the retaining function of the channel may be decreased and if that is the case, the run channel should be replaced.

3. Inspect the front run channel retainer. Should any distortion be evident, the run channel retainer must be replaced with the following part numbers (Refer to Figure 2).
Part Number 10129640 Right Side
Part Number 10129641 Left Side
Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
4. Reinstall the door glass assembly using the adjustment procedure on page 5W-13 of the 1988 Regal Service Manual. It is extremely important to ensure that the glass assembly is engaged into the glass run channels and that the front run channel retainer is adjusted properly.
