SUBJECT: DELAYED AND/OR INSUFFICIENT INTERIOR COOLING AT IDLE


MODELS AFFECTED: 1988 SKYHAWKS EQUIPPED WITH THE 2.0L LT2 4-CYLINDER ENGINE (VIN CODE K)

NOTICE: This bulletin is being revised to indicate the correct manual transaxle PROM numbers for the "J" car. Please discard 88-1-5, dated 3/88 and replace it with 88-1-5A.


Some early-built 1988 Skyhawks may exhibit delayed and/or insufficient cooling with the air conditioning mode selected. This is due to the engine cooling fan not operating in the A/C mode when the outside air temperatures is below 85 F.

This condition can be addressed by installing the following service PROMS:
