Oil Pan: Service and Repair

OIL PAN

Oil Pan:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Battery cables.
2. Raise car.
3. Engine oil.
4. Exhaust pipe, disconnect at manifold and hanger to swing out of way.
5. Starter cover and flywheel cover.
6. Starter.
7. Retaining bolts.
8. Oil pan.

CLEAN
^ Sealing surfaces on oil pan, and cylinder block

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. RTV.
2. Oil pan and retaining bolts.

TIGHTEN
^ Bolts to 27 Nm (20 lb. in.).

3. Starter.
4. Starter cover and flywheel cover.
5. Exhaust pipe.
6. Lower car.
7. Engine oil.
8. Battery cables.

INSPECT
^ Engine oil level.
^ For leaks.
