Throttle Body Assembly Removal and Replacement
MPFI Throttle Body:
REMOVAL:
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Partially drain the radiator so the coolant hoses to the throttle body can be removed.
3. Remove the air cleaner and the associated duct work.
4. Remove the 10 mm screw holding the fuel lines to the throttle cable bracket.
5. Remove the throttle, TV (transmission), and cruise control cables.
6. Disconnect the vacuum hoses.
7. Disconnect the IAC, TPS, and MAF sensor electrical connectors.
8. Remove the coolant hoses from the throttle body.
9. Remove the nuts holding the throttle body to the manifold adapter.
10. Remove the throttle body and flange gasket. Discard the flange gasket.
11. Clean the gasket surface on the throttle body and the intake manifold.
INSTALLATION:
1. Install a new flange gasket.
2. Install the throttle body assembly.
3. Tighten the retaining nuts to 15.0 Nm (11.0 lb.ft).
4. Reconnect the coolant hoses to the throttle body.
5. Connect the throttle, TV, and cruise control cables.
6. Connect the vacuum lines.
7. Connect the IAC, TPS, and MAF sensor electrical connectors.
8. Install the air inlet duct.
9. Refill the radiator to replace the lost coolant.
10. Install the air cleaner and duct work.
11. Connect the negative battery cable.
