Throttle Body Assembly Removal and Replacement



MPFI Throttle Body:





REMOVAL:

1. Drain the radiator coolant to a level where the throttle body coolant lines can be removed.
2. Remove the 10 mm screw holding the fuel lines to the throttle cable bracket, then remove the throttle, TV (transmission), and cruise control cables.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose.
4. Disconnect the IAC, TPS, and MAF sensor electrical connectors.
5. Remove the 2 bolts holding the throttle body to the EGR adapter.
6. Remove the throttle body assembly.
7. Clean the gasket surfaces on the throttle body and EGR adapter.

INSTALLATION:

1. Install a new flange gasket.
2. Install the throttle body.
3. Insert and tighten the throttle body retaining bolts to 15.0 Nm (11.0 lb.ft).
4. Connect the throttle, TV, and cruise control cables.
5. Reconnect the vacuum lines.
6. Connect IAC, TPS, and MAF sensor electrical connectors.
7. Install the air inlet duct.
8. Refill the radiator to replace lost coolant.
