Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM)

The EBCM is a small control computer, mounted inside the trunk on the left wheelhouse, which monitors system operation and controls anti-lock function when required. The EBCM relies on inputs from the wheel speed sensors and feedback from the hydraulic unit to determine if the anti-lock brake system is operating correctly and to determine when the anti-lock function is required. The EBCM has a self-diagnostic capability, including 42 trouble codes, which may be used in the event of a system malfunction. The EBCM can display these trouble codes by entering the ABS diagnostic mode.
