SERVICE PROCEDURE

An intermittent harsh 3-2 shift may be caused by a broken 3-2 line control retainer (Item # 435, Figure 4). Remove the transaxle side cover to access the 3-2 line control valve and, if necessary, replace a broken retainer with the part listed below. Also ensure that the 3-2 line control valve moves freely in its bore.
