Fig. 5 Thermostat Replacement. Riviera, Reatta, Toronado & Trofeo:

1. Drain coolant level below that of thermostat housing.
2. Remove fuel rail cover from engine.
3. Remove thermostat upper housing attaching bolt, Fig. 5.
4. Remove upper thermostat housing, then thermostat.
5. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Install new rubber O-ring on upper thermostat housing, lubricate with coolant.
b. Torque thermostat attaching bolt to specifications.
c. Fill cooling system, bleed system as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE/COOLING SYSTEM BLEED.
